Thought Rocks are one of about two types of rocks, Monument Rocks being the other.

A Thought Rock has several physical characteristics.  They are small enough to fit easily in the palm of your hand.  They can be comfortably fribbled*.  When a Thought Rock is placed on a hard surface, like a table, it should spin and make a satisfying twirling sound.  It should also fit neatly into a pocket and not be so large or heavy that it interferes with your arms swinging naturally.  Thought rocks have also been called by different names.  One such variation would be a Worry Stone, much like a string of worry beads that a person unconsciously plays with to keep his hands occupied.

*Fribble v (1633): to roll or joggle a small object in one's hand during a time of thoughtful contemplation.
